A novel method for producing aligned carbon fibre from recycled waste
HiPerDif (High Performance Discontinuous Fibre) is a University of Bristol spin-out which has developed a novel, low-cost method for layup of aligned carbon fibre tape from recycled waste. Many industries (e.g. aerospace and formula 1) produce large quantities of CF waste, which is very challenging to reprocess and reuse. The HiPerDiF method is capable of producing recycled composites with tensile modulus, strength and failure strain comparable to new material made from continuous fibre.
